Clothing

- Solid colours look best.
- Think of the outfits as costumes for each character you’d like to capture.
- Denim, jackets, and jumpers are fine. You could bring some statement pieces too.
- Textures work well.
- Match your eye colour.
- Avoid logos, busy patterns and creases.
- Avoid polo tops and showing too much skin.
- Bring a number of options.
- Pay attention to necklines; bring options with different shapes.
- No excessive jewellery - this session is all about your face and expression!

Hair & make-up

- It’s best to keep makeup minimal or as much as you like!
- Make sure you’re happy with how your hair looks, bring a brush and/or some product to style it. If you have long hair, then consider taking shots with hair both up and down.
- Prepare your facial hair a few days before the shoot - plucking/shaving can leave red marks and irritate the skin on the day.

Post-production & retouching

After the session, you’ll pick shots that you are happy with, and then I will go through them and make the final selection.
These are the photos that will be retouched.

My approach to retouching is simple. Anything that would be gone in a couple of days, can be removed. The same applies to small distractions, such as accidental shadows or flyaway hairs. I spend quite a bit of time retouching, but only to produce a natural-looking image.

If you have any questions at all, just let me know.
