Photography and website for Painting and Decorating Business

My mum has been decorating homes for a decade and it was natural that we decided to create a website to advertise her business. We set a goal that was to design a brand new website as well as business cards. In order to achieve this, I did a photoshoot on one of the locations where my mum was working at a time.

We spoke about the style of the images. My mum didn’t want clean, stock kind of pictures with clean (never used) tools. Her work is all about maturity, reliability and longevity.

Taking photos was relatively easy. The real challenge was to come up with a domain name. After a good month of thinking about it, we ended up with paintingthecity.com. Sophie Carpenter helped to shape the website and organise the content.
