Portfolio photography for illustrator Sophie Carpenter
I have been working with Sophie for a few years now and I can say that she has changed my understanding of design. I know very few things about what makes a great design, but Sophie makes it looks so simple! Her sense of colour and detail is something I always notice and appreciate. Our creative collaboration does not only include working on the same projects, but sometimes I get to take some photos of her work. Below you can find a few examples.
We work together on People Power Passion programme run by Luton Borough Council. She is responsible for all printed materials and her designs can be seen all over the town. She is also helping me with the films that I make by creating graphics, end slides etc.
I always wanted her to create my branding and I couldn’t be happier with what Sophie came up with. I love the choice of font, colours and the handcrafted illustration of me with my favourite camera.
Sophie worked on a bright blue journal filled with cute illustrations and I loved taking photos of it in her office.
We had a day out in Watford where Sophie’s illustration was turned into a massive canvas cube. We saw children and parents colouring the characters Sophie carefully designed!
She is working on a number of local projects and you may have spotted her work displayed around the town. Sophie designed this year’s Luton Carnival posters and I loved the big prints!
I took many more photos for Sophie, you can see them all here.
